The Black Paintings of Fransisco Goya
Cannibalism, senseless murder, witchcraft, kidnapping, dogs dying, weird, strange, macabre… These all describe the murals painted on the artist’s walls in his own villa. It was the end of a long and successful career. He was alone and sick, had gone deaf, lived through the terrors of Napoleon, and probably had about enough of the world and life in general.
