I'm Trying....

...to finish as much as humanly possible in the next week before the Show Cave show opens. It would be beneficial to be in the same state as my studio right now. That shit better be working on itself out while this infomercial on Half Union Proof Gold Coins keeps luring me closer and closer...

How important are gold coin collections? I'll tell you. VERY. I definiatlely have a collection of gold coins, I've invested nearly everything in gold. I know a dude with more gold coins than he can carry- he ONLY has gold coins.

Lets check the stats real quick. I knew it, gold is +9.20. I rest my case.

I kind of just want to start displaying my collection of gold coins in collectors edition cases on the walls of the gallery and stand next to them with a tazer and sunglasses on the whole time. Then Christina could come in with a sweet guitar solo, the lights would dim, fog machine starts, and we would break into a performance based around the exponential power or this Precious METALLLLL and end with a releasing of a white dove. God... that sounds so right...

In Black

My attraction and appreciation to macabre themes and preoccupations is often times overwhelming. Its just so beautiful.
Black is timeless and altogether classic. This season, the classics are being reinvented in an array of textures and textiles. It's not all about the standard cotton black dress anymore, this season, its all about lace, satin, fur, and all types of unbelievable patterns and textures that are bringing to life this ageless and model-chic color.

There are wasps nesting in your brain!!!


While painting the usual skull and brain cavity in my studio I discovered something rather unsettling. I got this bull skull from my father a few years ago, and it was in beautiful condition, of course. Though recently, I decided it was important for it to have a mate- both of which to be used in an installation I'm creating for an upcoming show at Show Cave in Los Angeles, 'Animal Sex.' I ordered a skull of e-bay, which was rather cheap considering it came with a free wasp next burrowed in the brain cavity of the animal and a whole lot of dirt and sticks in the inner cavities. I love my life.

New Digs

I recently moved into a new studio space in a gorgeous warehouse/loft in Los Angeles. As soon as I get my air conditioner in working order and stock my mini-fridge with otter pops maybe I'll be able to get back to drawing without going in and out of consciousness from the heat. The high ceilings and open air make up or it. I'll do just about anything for space, thinking, breathing, open air, head space... and rooftop access. I'm watching bull riding on television with my family while writing this. The fake confetti on the screen is so believably gorgeous. More confetti. MORE.

I'll tell you the truth.

THIS is the reason I don't watch movies. I don't think I slept the majority of my childhood after seeing these little fuckers on accident when I was 6. All I could picture when I closed my eyes at night was these little jerks going straight for my stomach, gnawing and burrowing deeper and deeper until I keeled over and died in a barn somewhere no one was going to find me for at least a week.
I would SO drop-kick every Critter on the face of this planet straight into a scorching pit of molten lava just to watch every little coarse, black, wiry hair on their body burn off before melting their living flesh straight off their creepy little bones.

I got asked by Holly Color Blog to choose 5 pantone cmyk colors that defined me, and everything I had. I found this a relatively easy task, considering its all I know, and all I choose to pay attention to... its all very much connected, its all on purpose, I can't help it- i just can't help it.

black on black, rich dark chocolate, 24k pawn shop gold, animal skulls with fluorescent red interiors and neon fuchsia…forever.

Band Practice.

Today I got asked to get the band back together. I've never had a band to get back together, but we have a show lined up in May at Show Cave. This is, however, the perfect time to get my collection of mini electric guitars and keyboards in working order- and master those bass lines I've been working on my whole life.

In order for this performance to go over smoothly, I'm going to need at least 2 more keytars. I'll love you forever, and ever- and if you can find me the 'Hot Keys' keytar you can totally be in the band too. God, I need a keytar SO BAD. Hot rock, hot rap, hot keys.


I have these two already, along with a mini pink flying V and a black double neck that lights up like a freaking parade... I play as many of them as I possibly can at one time.

So, imagine wearing the most comfortable, softest baby skin while lying on a pile of puppies, lots of little adorable puppies that smell like puppy milk, and you have the cutest little pair of mini Nike Air Force ones in the palm of your hand, like black and gold ones....with little tiny laces in them... and puppies are licking you all over- and this baby skin feels sooooo good... thats exactly what Blood is the New Black tees feel like. AAAAAND lil wayne wears Blood... so go get your eyelids tattooed...

I'm moving my studio this week from Koreatown to Atwater Village. Its time for a change. Change of scenery, with more head space, higher ceilings, less kim-chi, more open air and neighbors i'll probably hate (tear, i love foreign family) i love you with all my heart, but things will be better this way. i promise. goodbye 6th st. goodbye rooftop views. thank you for everything. darkness has fallen, once again.

i'll be at the old Capitol Records building on San Fernando, graciously accepting juice and snacks- and distraction.... as always.
